My Answer and suggestion is please try BliuBliu , Read in your language. This is by far the best way to gain vocabulary and comprehension in your native tounge and certainly is important for your target language. It is not only Important it is needed.
all you need to do is google Why is reading important, and you will believe in what I am saying.
also 10 miniutes a day for a short time with BliuBliu You will notice a very big % increase in your ability. I promise.
